 From its very beginnings, KIDA took it upon itself to find solutions to a number of the community’s and the region’s social problems, as well as to develop the infrastructure. It was KIDA that brought the gas and water supply to Illyefalva, contributed to building up the sewer system and to paving the asphalt and cement roads, and established a construction and a carpentry business. The foundation also funded the construction of a modern medical centre, which today houses a general practitioner’s office, a pharmacy and a dentist’s office, and on the upper floor there are a number of service flats. KIDA contributed to a full renovation of the nursery school and to creating the infrastructure for the local school. They restored the delapidated Séra mansion as well. Among their social service projects, it is worth mentioning the “A warm meal a day” programme, which has been running for ten years now. It provides a warm lunch every day, in the five towns of Kovászna county, to children and young people living in very difficult social situations. They also provide support towards the boarding costs of village youth who are in financial need.
