LAM - the seeds of development |
 Landwirtschaft – Agricultura – Mezőgazdaság: the initials of the words for “agriculture” in German, Romanian and Hungarian make up the brand name that has helped lay the foundations for numerous businesses and farms in Illyefalva, Kovászna and in Hargita county. The LAM Foundation was established in 1992, at the initiative of Béla Kató, the Reformed pastor of Illyefalva, and the foundation later established LAM plc, a listed company that provides microcredit.
LAM plc
This company grew out of the LAM Foundation and now that the necessary legislation necessary has been enacted, it.is recognised by the Romanian National Bank as a non-banking institution that engages in providing microcredit. LAM plc provides credit to entrepreneurs and growers, and its activities have already expanded to several counties.
LAM Foundation
This is an adult education institution, operating several accredited training programmes, primarily in the fields of agriculture and the hospitality industry. It grants state-recognised diplomas, offers opportunities to gain international work experience and the chance to develop one’s skills in the modern facilities of the LAM training farm.
